Providing assistance to individuals to remain
in their families.
In Nepalese and Tibetan culture the family is central to providing care for the elderly. However, more and more, the extended family structure is breaking down as young people leave their rural villages for the cities and towns. The elderly are increasingly left without a support system.
This programme seeks to reconnect families, and help them cope with looking after their elderly members through educational activities and helping families generate additional income.
