Women Cooperative Society (WCS) has distributed cash as an immediate relief to victims of the devastating earthquake who are micro-credit members of WCS. After collecting the information about the scale of damage by the earthquake, WCS has distributed Rs.1,500 to members whose houses have been completely damaged, Rs.1,000 to those whose houses have been partially damaged and Rs. 500 to those who have not taken any loans from WCS, and are just the depositors.

On June 16, 2015, Founder, chairperson and board member Mrs. Saraswati Shrestha, board member Mrs. Illya Bhattarai and Shenpen project coordinator Ms. Anamika Aryal distributed Rs. 6,500 for relief to 13 earthquake victims, and members of Shuvakamana Women Center, Rs. 15,000 to 16 members of Prayas Women Center, Rs. 3,000 to 6 members of Bagalamukhi Women Center, Rs.8,000 to 10 members of Tulasi Mata Women Center, Rs. 3,000 to 5 members of Mahalaxmi Women Center, Rs. 1,500 to 2 members of Kageshwori Women Center and Rs. 7,000 to 7 members of Surya Mandali Women Center at Alapot, Sankhu under Sankhu branch.

Similarly, WCS promoter Mrs. Rakshita Ghimere and Senior Project Chief Mr. Puspa Raj Bhatt distributed Rs. 24,000 cash to 24 earthquake victim members of Seti Devi Women Center and Rs. 26,000 cash to 26 members of Shree Ganesh Women Center at Seti Devi under Balkhu branch on June 9, 2015.IMG_0516

Also, on June 3, 2015, member of the Accounts Committee and shareholder Mrs. Ratneshwori Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Amrit Prasad Kayastha and Senior Project Chief Mr. Puspa Raj Bhatt distributed Rs.16,000 to 14 earthquake victim members of Milijuli Women Center, Rs.21,000 to 14 earthquake victim members of Mahakaleshwor Women Center and Rs.20,000 to 17 earthquake victim members of Lataramma Women Center at Chhittapol, Bhaktapur under Kamalbinayak branch.W7
