Recently, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche flew by helicopter with a few close students to a village called Tipling located in the district of Rasuwa. This area cannot be reached by car and so one would have to walk for many days in order to get there. People who know this area very well said that these places have yet to receive any aid. Therefore Rinpoche decided to go this place himself and investigate the situation there.
The village is very poor and many houses were damaged by the recent earthquakes. A Jesuit priest named Norbert was there to warmly welcome Rinpoche and show him around the village.
Upon witnessing the destruction and poverty, Rinpoche decided to deliver 500 tin roofs to this village in order to help the locals rebuild their homes. The monks from Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling monastery are currently looking into ways to deliver the tin sheets to this remote location.
