August 20th, 2015 – Monks from Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling monastery traveled to Lokhim VDC in the Solukhumbu region loaded with supplies for temporary shelter (tarps) as well as school supplies and clothes for about 300 students. The trip generally takes about 12 hours travel time before reaching a point beyond which standard vehicles are useless. This time was no different, and after 12 hours, a 2 hour tractor ride carried our monks farther into the mountainous region. Finally, even the tractor could not continue, and the community sent a number of porters to receive the relief goods.

Among the goods were delivered to Lokhim:
82 Tarps,
Clothing and stationary for 250 students
Medicine kits for basic health treatment (cough drops, bandages, etc)
Solar stations for charging of electronic equipment (important for maintaining communication in the region)

Thanks to Ivan Coursac for helping us find this opportunity to help the Solukhumbu region!

Note: The destroyed car in this album shows how dangerous the roads can be in the mountainous areas of Nepal. The car was destroyed two days before the Shenpen team arrived, and none of our personnel were injured.DSC_5364 DSC_5370 DSC_5380 DSC_5400 DSC_5436 DSC_5446 DSC_5471 DSC_5478
