You’ve heard us say before that we never leave anyone behind, even a dog, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that when we found Tsering, we sprang right into action!

One evening, a wonderful lady from Boudhanath named Phuti, who loves animals, found a poor dog lying in a ditch near Mahankal Road. The white dog was unable to move, eat or drink. It was a heart-wrenching sight. She immediately asked Shenpen how this poor dog could be helped. As all the animal shelters we could reach at the late hour of Phuti’s call were full, we brought the dog to a vet with an excellent reputation, but before we dropped the dog off to the vet’s office we named him Tsering, Tibetan for ‘Long Life’, hoping that with such a name there would be a miracle and the dog would survive.

The next morning we received a call from the Vet. After checking the dog, he said that there was no chance of survival and that we needed to put Tsring down but we were not ready to give up yet. We contacted the manager of Street Dog Care, who was eager to give it a try to save Tsering’s life. It was wonderful to see the amount of love and care they put into trying to help him. Tsering had surgery a couple of days ago, but more treatment and surgeries might be needed.

Tsering, is now off the streets and in a loving environment where he can regain his health and enjoy life. Thanks to Street Dog Care for being in the right place at the right time!

For now, Tsering is doing fine. He has plaster on his leg and is going for regular visits to the Veterinarian clinic. For now we just have to wait and see how it goes once the plaster is removed.

Please join us in sending a lot of healing love Tsering’s way.
