After more than a year of intense work, on March 29, 2017 we inaugurated the fifty-five houses sponsored by Rangjung Yeshe Shenpen.

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, founder of Shenpen, formally received an award by the vice-president of Nepal, Nanda Kishor Pun during the official inauguration ceremony.
Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche kindly traveled to Dhading to perform the inauguration and blessing with the help of his brother, the vajra master Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche. Each family was assigned a house by way of a lottery system, and they were handed a padlock and a certificate of ownership for their house.
This was a powerful moment for all of the villagers, who worked more than ten hours a day for 15 months to build their new homes, which means that they managed to build one house every eight days!

Rangjung Yeshe Shenpen was the major donor in the project. We provided the rod, cement, sand, aggregate in order to build a the 55 houses supported by pillars, and tools and equipments. Shenpen also ensured the cost of the transportation for the project materials by purchasing a truck and lending it to the community. Finally, we provided technical assistance on a regular basis and conducted monitoring visits to ensure the construction of the houses.

Here are some photos of this memorable day:

May the villagers be happy and safe in their new houses!
