For many years, Rangjung Yeshe Shenpen has been closely involved in aiding the Burns Unit of Kanti Children’s Hospital. At the request of the supervisor of the Burns Unit, and with the support of the Kiwanis Club, we were able to provide the Burns Unit with a full year’s supply of hand sanitizer, hand-wash, and hygienic wipes. These supplies will be of immediate benefit the Unit’s twenty-two patients, their relatives, visitors, and hospital staff.

Frequent hand-washing is essential to prevent infectious agents and microbes from spreading to and from those with whom we have both direct and indirect contact. In a hospital setting, where patients are already vulnerable, the importance of hand-washing is paramount.

This project has had a great impact on the patients and staff of the Burns Unit. Consequently, Shenpen wishes to transform this offering from a one-time project into a recurring contribution. To make this possible, Shenpen requires 45,000 Nrs (US$ 450) in order to again provide a 12-month supply of sanitizer and hand-wash in the coming year.
