The high level of unemployment in Nepal creates deep poverty. People's abilities to support their families are constrained by a lack of jobs and money to finance vocational training and small business start-up costs. By creating opportunities for people to receive vocational skills training in areas such as crafts, tailoring and farming and to access micro-credit, Shenpen aims to help people develop the skills that allow them to support themselves.
