Sharing warmth with”Homeless” people Posted January 7, 2016 by Suchan Budha

Under the guidance of Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche along with a delegation of monks from Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery, representatives from Rangjung Yeshe Shenpen and students of the Rangjung Yeshe Institute, Shenpen distributed much needed warm clothes such as jackets, hats, and blankets to over 300 people suffering from the cold wave in Kathmandu, Boudha area on 28th December 2015. Shenpen was able to spread the distribution at Boudha with Rinpoche.

Since the beginning of December, parts of Nepal have been forced to deal with unusually cold weather, which many families are unprepared for. According to the Himalayan Times, reports of school aged children struggling to attend school early in the morning due to intense fog and cold temperatures have been coming in.  Some schools have even opted to close for a 70-day hiatus making parents of school aged children worried for their education.

Being able to share warmer clothes with people in affected areas means their commute to and from school and work is safer and less of a challenge.  Shenpen gratefully thanks the entire support team who made this distribution program a successful one.Without the help of these known and unknown supporters, this size of effort would not be possible.
